Eight is Enough
Eight is Enough

Well, numerically that isn’t true. I only wrote six numeric scenes yesterday at work for the first episode of my Water Wars scriptwriting project. The other two scenes were within the first scene of Act Three. And they were Establishing Shots. That is why the title for this blog entry is eight. That’s because I did write eight scenes yesterday at work. It’s just that two of them were Establish Shots ones.

I’m not all that surprised that I wrote that many. After all, it was a typical Saturday at work yesterday. It wasn’t very busy at all. If anything, it may have been less busy than it has been lately. Of course, that isn’t saying too much considering it has been a little bit busier than normal recently. Still not very busy. But busier than normal.

I knew that I was going to finish writing the last scene to end Act Two. The only way I probably wouldn’t have done that was if I either had another split shift. And I didn’t feel like writing. Especially, if I was working at what I call the main gate for the first four hours. The other way is I was working my old post for my entire shift.

Even if it was a split shift or an entire shift, I think that I would have forced myself or had about a half-hour at the most to end Act Two. I may not have felt like doing any more writing or had the time to write more, but I would have written that one scene. Probably would have tried to write the two Establishing Shots too. Since they are only one or two paragraphs long.

The first Establishing Shot is the one from Space. And it’s usually one paragraph long with a five-line paragraph. As for the second Establishing Shot, it’s two paragraphs with a four-line paragraph in each one. The first one is above the water. And the second one is after we enter the water. That’s how they usually are. But that doesn’t mean they will always be like that.

I hope that today will be the same as yesterday aka at least five scenes written for this project. But hoping it’s a few more than that. The only difference is that I won’t have any Establishing Shots. These will only be numeric scenes. Since today is Sunday there is a very good chance that I could write that many today. Especially, since it’s Halloween.

Can’t remember how busy it was the last couple of Halloweens. But if it isn’t too busy, then I may just get eight more scenes written for this project. Maybe even one or two scenes more. I hope that I can do that many. But I’m not going to count on anything until it happens. Whether I do less than five, or five to ten or more, I’m going to get as many of them as I can write.
