Only Seventy Yesterday

No, I didn’t have another split shift at work yesterday. I also didn’t work a full shift at one of the other posts where I work. But it is almost as bad as either one of those scenarios is. Four about the first two and a half hours into my shift I couldn’t do any writing. That’s why I only got seventy single sentences written there for the first episode of my Water Wars scriptwriting project.

What is the usual reason why I can’t get more writing done than I should have been able to do? That’s right. It’s because of where I work or who I work for. This time it’s where I work. They were finally fixing the several holes inside my normal guard post. And it took him about two and a half hours to do it. As a result, I couldn’t do any writing during that time.

As soon as he left, I started working on this episode. At first, I didn’t think that I would get the third and fourth Acts written for it. If I was lucky, I would have gotten the third one finished. That’s how busy it was at work yesterday. But it wasn’t as bad as I thought that it was going to be. It was still very, very busy there. Only not as busy as it started out to be.

The weather was another reason why I didn’t think I would get that fourth Act written. It was extremely windy at work yesterday. In fact, it was a kind of wind that can knock out power. True, it didn’t do that. But there was a warning to take cover about that during the last hour of the first half of my shift. There was also a downpour of rain in that last hour too. The wind continued after that. But the rain stopped about a half-hour later.

Between the fixing going on at my guard post, the weather, and how busy it was, I was surprised that I got both of these Acts written yesterday. But I did. Now all I have to write is the Tag Act for this episode. And I will be done with it. At least I will be for the single sentences of it. Once I get done with it, I will start working on the second episode for this project.

I probably won’t get the first half of the second episode finished because of the Tag Act on the first one. But I’m going to try to do it. Then again, maybe I can. It all depends on how long it takes me to write the Teaser Act for that episode. After all, it’s the start of a new episode. and they can be difficult to write. At least they are to me. Of course, it also depends on where I work and who I work for as to how much writing that I get written.
