Again This Month Too

It looks like I’m going to be writing only one Short Story this month too. After all, the other contest that I am been entering lately hasn’t given us a prompt for this month. And with only three weeks left until the end of it, I probably wouldn’t have time to write it even if there was a prompt. But I don’t think that there will be. For one reason or another, it doesn’t look like there will be a second Short Story for this month.

That’s kind of good for me since that one Short Story is for the WDC Short Story contest. It means that I have three weeks to write it. I don’t plan on waiting that long to do it. I’m hoping to get it written in the next week or two. Of course, I have written that before. So, there is a very good possibility that it may take me almost the whole three weeks to write it. I hope that it doesn’t take me too long to write it. But the way that it has been for me the last few months, I may be lucky if three weeks is going to be enough time to finish it.

I had a lot of trouble with the Short Story for the WDC this month. Not because I couldn’t remember one. In fact, it was quite the opposite. There were so many of them that I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to write. It took me a little bit of time to remember the right one. The one that I think that I can win this contest with. Even though I know that I will never win it. But that’s not why I write these short stories. I know I won’t win any of them. It’s because I like a challenge.

Unfortunately, I did get too much of it written so far this month. It’s not a complete loss, though. I wanted to work on it after work these last five days. And I did get one section written after I did the single sentences for this Short Story. But that is all that I have done on it. After all, it has been a long day for me. It started very early this morning. And it didn’t end until about an hour ago. That’s how busy it was for me today.

What is the usual reason why I don’t get any work done when it comes to my writing? That’s right. It’s because of what my brother and I needed to get done today. We didn’t have a whole lot that needed to be done. But we didn’t need to do too much today. But what little that we did need to do took us most of the day to do it. That’s why I didn’t get as much writing done as I could have.
