Eighteen Should Have Been About Twenty

No Establishing Shots were written yesterday at work. The eighteen single paragraphs were all scenes for Part Two of the movie introduction for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. It could have been one or two more, though. Maybe even three or four.

Why didn’t I get more written yesterday at work? What is the usual reason why I don’t? Well, there are several possible reasons why I don’t. But the main one is normally work. And how busy it got there. This is one of those times. It was work that slowed me down.

It wasn’t really busy at work yesterday. But it was a little bit busier than normal for a Saturday. Especially, when it comes to being outside. I was outside a whole lot yesterday. A lot more than I usually am. The only days that it gets busier are during weekdays.

Being outside a lot wasn’t the only reason, though. It was also bad on the inside too. Just not as bad as the outside. About half as bad. Overall, between the inside and the outside is the reason why I didn’t get more writing done yesterday at work.

Don’t get me wrong. I think that eighteen single paragraphs are great writing. Especially, if they aren’t Establishing Shots. And these weren’t. They were all four, five, or six lines long. And they equaled about seven or eight pages of this Scene Outline.

I only need eight more scenes to finish Act Two of Part Two of this Scene Outline. Shouldn’t have too much trouble doing that. No matter how busy it gets at work today. I should get it done in the first four hours of my shift. Maybe even in the first two or three hours.

Why do I write the last couple of sentences in the last paragraph as I did? It’s because of the last few days. I have been averaging about one paragraph every fifteen minutes. If it has taken me that long ago. Divide eight into fifteen and you get two hours.

Of course, work will slow me down a little bit. So, it may take some paragraphs longer than others to write. Most of them will probably still be fifteen minutes or less. But some may take over the fifteen. Either way, it will probably average about fifteen minutes each.

Once I get Act Two finished, I will start on Act Three. Then I will have three, I think, Establishing Shots. Plus however many numeric scene paragraphs. I don’t know how many of them I will get written. But if it’s anything like the last few days, I will be able to get another ten to fifteen written.
