Worst First Day Off Ever

I can’t remember any other worst days that I have had on my first day off from work. If it isn’t, then this must be the second-worst day off by a hair. That’s how bad it has been today. I have had a whole lot of them. But this one makes all of them look good.

It started about two months ago when we were trying to get a house. And it took a lot of time to do that. But we did. I thought that was the end of it. That we got our house. And everything was going to be somewhat smooth sailing. I didn’t expect it to be perfect from then on. But I didn’t think it was going to be this bad either.

Since my brother signed the papers to get this house, we started moving things into it. We also set up the moving day to coincide with my Vacation Time Off. So that we could use that two weeks for the move. It hasn’t worked out as we thought it would.

The first thing we did was to get cable and internet set up. That happened today. We also set up for today the furniture and appliances we needed to complete us moving in there in about ten days from now. The furniture and appliances delivery went somewhat okay. Until we found out the appliances had several problems associated with them. Two got resolved rather shortly. But the third one hasn’t been resolved. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to get resolved anytime soon.

Cable and internet were the next big problem. The Installer was twenty-two minutes late. And it took him a long time to install them. As a result, it took our ADT Installer longer than it should have too. What does that mean? It means we didn’t get out of there until about seven-thirty WDC time. And we didn’t home until around nine WDC time.

What does that mean for my writing? It means that I didn’t get any writing done today on my WDC Short Story for this month. In fact, this is the first chance that I have had to get on my laptop today. I thought about taking my laptop to my new place. And I should have done it. But I didn’t do it.

If I had, I would have been able to work on this Short Story. After all, I had plenty of time to do it. I may have even gotten it finished. But once again I didn’t do that. As a result, I barely got home in time to do this blog entry. Once I finish writing and posting it, I do plan on working on this Short Story. I need to do at least one more part of it. If not two or three more sections.
