Not as Well as I Hoped It Would Be

I finally got some writing done on my WDC Short Story for this month. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as much as I wanted to get done today. And it’s all because of my brother. True, we didn’t have to go back to our old place to bring back some stuff to our new house. But we did need to update our new house, though. What does that mean? It means that we spent most of today fixing up our new house.

The furniture may be in our new house where it belongs. And a lot of what we have brought from our old place. But there has been quite a bit that we just found a place for until the move isn’t finished or almost finished like it was today. Most of it has been put in our garage until we can get more organized and place it where it’s supposed to be placed. A little has already been placed in the right place. Especially, my stuff. But there has been a lot that hasn’t been replaced yet. That is what we have been doing most of the afternoon and evening today.

True, we did need to do a few things this morning. But it didn’t take us that long to do them. We had them finished by noon. So, under normal circumstances, I could have gotten a lot of writing done on my WDC Short Story for this month. I may even have been able to finish it today. But I couldn’t because of what happened this afternoon and evening.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy that I got two more sections written on this Short Story. I was just hoping that I would have gotten more of it written. Two more parts are better than nothing. Which is what it has been lately. But I would have gotten more written if not for what else needed to be done today. Don’t know if I would have finished this Short Story or not. I probably would have had only one or two parts to it left, though.

If I have any sections or parts to it. The way that it has been written so far, I may not have any parts or sections. I have them now. But I may not when I finish it. If I finish it in time for this contest. After all, I only have a few days left to do it before the end of this month. I think that I can still do it. But the closer it gets to the end of the month the more worried that I am that I won’t get it written in time.
