The Registrar [Week 1 entry]
The Registrar


A man dressed in brown
from toes to his crown
without smile or frown
bids us to sit.

Rote queries ensue,
he asks, "Will you two
forever be true,
for life commit?"

I all but cry out,
"If I must without
this girl plod about,
I've no real life!"

She says much the same,
and finally came,
"You now I proclaim
husband and wife!"
