Mostly My Fault This Time

I meant to not only finish my WDC Short Story for this month at work no matter if they approved of it or not. But I messed up big time. Not only didn’t I take my tablet I also didn’t take my chargers for my laptop or my cell phones. As a result, I didn’t get any more writing on either one of my short stories for this month. That reads familiar, now, doesn’t it?

Try as I might, I have one thing or another that prevents me from getting a Short Story written until almost the end of the month. And this month it’s worse because I have two of them again. I know that it’s not even the middle of the month yet. So, I have plenty of time to still write them. But the way things are going I’m not sure if that’s going to happen or not.

What makes it so frustrating is that I only have two sections left for my WDC Short Story to finish it. And I have had those two parts for the last couple of days. I should have gotten them done by now. But I haven’t been able to do that because of being a Flex Officer. And it’s all my fault. Today, I could have not only gotten it written but maybe even created it.

I expected to be on call twenty-four/seven as a Flex Officer. But I didn’t expect it to be this hard. And today it was extremely hard. Not the post itself. That’s why I was sure that I could get at least the WDC Short Story finished today. But all the problems I had getting to it. No wonder I forgot my tablet. So, in a way, it wasn’t all my fault after all. Just ninety-nine percent of it was.

Right now, I’m supposed to be going to this post again this Friday. But I may not be going to it after all. Why is that? It’s because I’m up for a permanent post that hopefully will start this Friday instead. Either way, I should get a lot of writing possibilities. I will get more with the permanent post because it’s a graveyard position. Just don’t know if it will start this week or next.

The only problem with the permanent position is that it’s only thirty-two hours per week. And four dollars less than the other one. I’m hoping that I can get both, though. Instead of Friday, I can work the other one on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Preferably, Tuesday again or Wednesday. But Monday and Thursday can work too. Just not as good as Tuesday and Wednesday.
