Not Quite a Typical Friday
Not Quite a Typical Friday

Earlier today wasn’t even as good as most of my Thursdays. Yesterday was an exception because I got a little more written than I usually do for a Thursday, but the last two or three Thursdays I got twenty-two single paragraphs written for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. I know at least two of those Thursdays were twenty-two. I’m not sure about the third one.

Unfortunately, I didn’t even quite get that many earlier today at work. I only got twenty-one single paragraphs written for the third episode, Floating Weapons, of this television series. I’m not sure why I only got twenty-one single paragraphs written earlier today at work, but I think I know why.

It was extremely cold where I work. Not the whole place. Just the first floor is kind of cold because of the open vents where the Air Conditioning is coming from. The rest of the building can be a little bit cold too, but not as bad as the first floor or where I’m sitting most of my shift.

I have a small Heater beside where I’m sitting, but it only works while on the floor. So, only my legs get a little bit warmed up. The rest of me doesn’t as much. As a result, it’s still pretty cold for me while I’m sitting down doing my writing. I think that was the main reason why I didn’t get a typical Friday dose of writing done earlier today at work.

Of course, I also have a jacket that I could wear while I’m sitting down doing my writing, watching the monitors, doing paperwork, etc. I don’t like to do that. It makes it harder for me to write. Yes, I know physically I can still write, but it’s still hard for me to do it with my jacket on. It’s kind of hard to explain too, but I will try to do it.

Having my jacket on remind me of why I have it on, and that distracts me because I’m always thinking about it. As a result, my writing suffers. Not the writing itself, but how long it takes me to write it. Does that explain everything? I don’t think it does either, and I’m the one trying to explain it.

The cold and the jacket are two reasons why I didn’t get about twenty-five single paragraphs written like I normally do on a Friday, but they’re not the only reasons. I also had some trouble with some of my single paragraphs too. Knew what I wanted to write, but not how to do it.

When it comes to my Scene Outlines, there is a pattern to my single paragraphs. Keeping my writing in those single paragraphs can be hard to do sometimes. Earlier today was one of those sometimes for several of my single paragraphs. I had a lot of erasing to do earlier today at work. Sometimes it was only a word or two, a sentence or two, but sometimes it was a lot more.
