Only a Little Bit Better
Only a Little Bit Better

I was hoping that it would be a few more than just two single paragraphs, but that’s all there were earlier today at work. It was a total of twenty-five single paragraphs I got written earlier. Twenty-three of them were numeric and two were Establishing Shots. In a way, that’s two extra in both directions. One for numeric and one for it being an Establishing Shot.

Why didn’t I get more written earlier today at work? In a way, I did. I rewrote a whole paragraph because it was more telling than showing. It was still the same storyline, but it was written better. At least I think it was. I still have a big problem when it comes to telling instead of showing.

I’m getting better at showing instead of telling, but I still have a long way to go. I have done it quite a lot with this episode and with the other episodes and Parts, but not as good as it could have been or should have been. Will try to make that up after I finish writing this episode, and that should be by the end of this weekend. When I start my backtracking.

I have twenty-five single paragraphs to end the third Act of my fourth episode, Probable Death. Thirty-five for Act Four, and Twenty for the Tag Act. That’s a total of eighty numeric single paragraphs left to finish this episode. Plus, the four single paragraphs for the Establishing Shots equal eighty-four.

That’s forty-two single paragraphs per day to finish this episode and my Scene Outlines. Since I have been doing about forty to forty-five single paragraphs per day on the weekends lately, I should be able to get this done this weekend. Of course, a lot of that depends on work. It’s usually not that busy at work. So, work shouldn’t be a problem with getting this finished.

At least it normally isn’t very busy. It typically isn’t for me because I work the graveyard shift from midnight to noon on the weekends, at it normally doesn’t get busy until toward the end of my shift. Even when it does start getting busy, it’s not that bad. Only a few employees come in to work on the weekend.

So, I shouldn’t have any problem getting this episode done this weekend. I may be cutting it close on Sunday, but I should still be able to do it. A lot of that depends on how well I do tomorrow at work. If I can get at least forty-two single paragraphs written tomorrow, I should be able to do the same thing for Sunday. A few more than that again would be even better.

Usually, I do a little bit better on a Sunday rather than a Saturday. Unfortunately, it has been slightly the opposite lately. So, doing a few more than forty-two would be better tomorrow. I’m not going to count on that until it happens, though. I just hope it does happen that way.
