Phew!

This one took me longer than normal, but I am putting that down to circumstances...

Sorry. I may have jumped ahead.

Okay, I finished my latest YA novel! My 93rd story of novel/novella length (12,500 words-plus)..

80k words, fantasy-horror, and it's finally over after 6 months!

Well, not quite. The first draft is over. I now leave it for a few months (at least until after I've finished another longer work), then I'll edit it, including rewriting chunks, then give it to my beta reader (in this case, my daughter), make the changes she suggests, set it aside again for some more time, do a final pass over, then send it off to publishers and cross my fingers.

More than that, it's given me a great idea for my NaNoWriMo project for this year! A modern take on the swan-maiden legend; YA urban fantasy. But I will leave that until November. Meanwhile, I'll hit the adult horror I've working on as well and try to get that done.
