Is my MC coming around? She knows now how obsessed Frank has been these past 2 decades, and it's making her uncomfortable, but it's also stirring long dormant memories. And yet, he was the one who left her after their "date" (for want of a better term) at the pub.

Romance stories are so not my wheelhouse, but this one is proving fun to write.

A 41 yr old woman who works at a cafe, living alone, very few friends, probably depressed. It's her PoV, and though she's not narrating, she is not proving to be a reliable narrator (as such).
A 41 yr old song-writer who is obsessed in a very unhealthy way.

Can they get back together after so long apart? Or will he end up with his assistant and she end up with the world-famous singer?

Yes, those damn characters are doing their own things again.

So, as a pantser, what does this mean? This means I really do not have an ending. It could go so many ways. When I started, I was hoping they would end up as friends. No HEA romance, as such, but not unhappy. However, they have their own ideas, and so I am not sure where they are going to go.

Some may ask how can fictional people who only live in my head have their own lives? Yeah, I wish I knew, but they do. They are independent.

Writers are not people. They are a lot of different people living inside one brain.
