So, with summer due to start in 3 days... last night we had a thunder storm, power went out, hail damaged part of the town (and woke me up), so from 3:30 this morning, I was writing (laptops with decent batteries for the win!). As such...

I finished the screenplay! Woo-hoo!

17k-plus words, 99 pages. In screenplays, one A4 page is assumed to be one filmed minute (though it is closer to 1:05 on average), so the film, if recorded as written, clocks in at over an hour and a half, but under 2 hours, so a decent length for a cheap, nasty, Z-Grade horror exploitation flick.

One survivor... then there's a post-credits scene! Because they are all the rage, right?

I really enjoyed it... and then I wrote a parody of Moore's 'A Visit From St Nicholas'. This is the 10th such parody I've written over the years, and was inspired by some stuff here at WdC. Will I post it here? Not sure yet... but I reckon I'm going to use it in my home-made Xmas cards this year.

So... still two days left. What next? I've been asked to write a story for an anthology, and if it is good enough, then I will be one of the five featured authors (greater slice of the royalty pie... it's good having something of a reputation as a horror writer). So, can I write 5k-plus words in 2 days? Yes! Do I have an idea that suits the theme? No! Time to sleep on it...
