Winter Solstice - The Longest Night of the Year
Darkness creeps over the earth
Marking territory and slipping its shadowy fingers
Under the blanket of night.
All is quiet as slumber falls over everyone.
As midnight approaches not a sound can be heard
The snow an insulator wrapping us all in
Tight and cozy in our beds.
Dreaming of the earth's reawakening
And the morning's frosty footprints.
