D1. "Contrariwise"
As I walked through the mirror land I noticed a bird standing on a twig over a stream. It appeared to be talking to something under the water. A fish was staring up at the bird whou was blowing bubbles. As each bubble broke the surface a small voice could be heard.

"I don't quite understand why you so enjoy flying. It sounds like hard work."the fish glub glubbed up at the bird.

"I would be absolutely miserable trying to live under the water. I don't swim well and my feathers would get absolutely water logged. When you're flying, the wind blows through your feathers and you are free of everything. Not bogged down by the oppressive weight of the water." the bird chirped

"Water isn't oppressive, I float easily in it. It takes no effort to 'fly' through water."

"I think I would like to try it some time but my feathers..."

The fish splashed up at the bird dampening the surface of the bird's feathers, "Now you're wet anyway, come on down."

The bird shook off the water, "You know we are both forgetting a simple truth. I can't breathe water, and you can't breathe air. Neither of us will ever be able to truly understand the other's world."
