Quotes 1
These are just some of my favorite quotes/guidelines for life. =) Thought I would put them all together. You may see them again later.

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and agressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your acheivements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in buisness affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virture is;
many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the council of the years, gracefully surrenduring the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful.
Strive to be happy." -Max Ehrman

"The fight is what's important. Doing what is good and right is why we're here. The end is variable and relative. A person can only do what his heart tells him and break away from the terrible things around him. We do what we can ... and live with the consequences." -Marc Zanoni

"Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections"

"If you are physically with someone all you get is their touch...you get everything they get just without touch..and that [touch] doesn't make you love someone" - Jake Rhodes

"The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it." -Flannery O'Connor

"A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." -Oscar Wilde

"We're all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible to ours, we join up with them and fall into a mutually satisfying weirdness and call it love, true love."

"There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same, and time is divided into two parts: before this and after this. Sometimes you can feel such a moment coming. That's the test. At times like that, strong people keep moving forward anyway, no matter what they're going to find."

You see, if you close your eyes tight and wait for something spectacular to happen, most of the time it won't. You just have to open your eyes, expect the worst, hope for the best, and take what you get. There's nothing you can do to stop what you know will happen. Its just a matter of letting yourself let go, and getting things over with. Sometimes you have to forget what you want and take what you get.

"'The bird that would soar above the level plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to earth'" Mademoiselle Reisz, Chapter XXVII, The Awakening, Kate Chopin

"Why, do you suppose a woman knows why she loves? Does she select? Does she say to herself: 'Go to! Here is a distinguished statesman with presidential possiblities; I shall proceed to fall in love with him.' Or 'I shall set my heart upon this musician, whose fame is on every tongue?' Or, 'This financier, who controls the world's money markets?'" - Mademoiselle Reisz, Chapter XXVI, The Awakening, Kate Chopin

Even as a child she had lived her own small life within herself. At a very early period she had apprehended instinctively the dual life -- that outward existance which conforms, the inward life which questions." - Chapter VII, The Awakening, Kate Chopin

I will probably do this a few more times throughout the next month. I love quotes. And I've been reading a lot of them lately, so thought I'd share with you guys. Have a good day/afternoon/evening/night!!!
