Falling Into Fire

January night
Lights reflecting off the ice
First rush of chill wind

And so she carries
All the weight of the wide world
To the precipice

Year in and year out
Flames within mirror the night
First blush of winter

And so she wonders
Will the darkness ever fade
Cover with daylight

Perpetual sun
Warmer than any furnace
First touch of desire

And so she fancies
Romance with a kind true heart
Embraced by warmth

Twinkling eyes connect
Stranded hearts beat together
A lifetime of love

And so she rises
To meet her destiny's call
Falling into fire
