Bovine Rites of Spring

Bright new pasture
Awakening herd, distant moo
Tails swish, lumbering hooves stagger, sensing the call
Morning light streams throught the barn, revealing nature's bounty lush grass
The feast begins

And then, outside
Struggling for a place in the sun
Horns ready at a moment's notice pushing forth
At last to graze to heart's content one sacred spot, untouched grandeur
Glorious Spring!
