IMPATIENT PATIENTS

[Treating a patient now-a-days is like having the Damocles' sword over the head]

Though he is called a patient,
He is often impatient.
Slightest pain he can’t bear,
As if death is so near.

His doctor must rush to him
And listen to every whim.
Even if he has no pain,
Falsely he can yet complain.

How can the poor doctor judge
Whether it’s a mere fudge?
Yet he dare not suggest
That it may be psychic, lest

The patient harbour offence
And make him offer defence
In the court when suit is filed
Alleging he was defiled!

The patient is well aided
By lawyers motivated
By the lure of hefty fee
To prove the doctor guilty.

A doctor may be at fault,
But why this Damocles' sword
On his poor head all the time?
As if treating is a crime!
