High Fives
A strange habit I have, amongst all those disgusting ones, is to make mental lists of five. Five things I need to do when I get in, five people I need to e-mail, five reasons to be thankful etc. It's always five for some reason. Maybe it's because my birthday is on the 5th; a good job then I wasn't born at the end of a month. Imagine - 31 things I must do today; God I'd be exhausted and a bigger failure than ever!

Negativity has been hounding me lately so yesterday was a day to look for five positive, uplifting things. Not too difficult.

1. It was sunny.
2. I actually walked through the woods where I used to take my dog. Nothing has changed and despite the sadness, the birds, trees and flowers were soul restoring.
3. I had some real laughs with my twin step grandsons. They are delightful, happy little two year olds.
4. I had some lovely comments on my b*** (Must find a new name.)
5. My Canadian online Scrabble friend, Paul, made me laugh, as he always does.

My horoscope today is intriguing and a little too accurate in some ways. 'Strain may have come between you and a partner. You might jump to the erroneous conclusion that the problem is due to the relationship. Try not to get worried or let your insecurities get the better of you. Have faith in the bond between you, allow some space and communication should be forthcoming tomorrow.' I have my doubts but the subject matter is spot on.

I still haven't had any contact from my critic and am preparing five reasons why I'd be better off without him in my life...

1. No more worrying when he doesn't contact me.
2. No more risks of hearing harsh words.
3. I'd have time to do more useful things.

Now, I'm struggling...erm

4. No more empty promises.
5. It would simplify my life more.

Not very convincing are they but they'll have to do for the moment. Better go now. I've got to...

1. Get washed and dressed.
2. Ring my mum and see what she wants to do today. (Oh Joy)
3. Tidy up this messy place I live in.
4. Do something towards my writing assignment.
5. Take some form of exercise. Yuk.

I might just read five blogs first though.

Have a good weekend.
