Empty or full, shiny or a little in need of washing and sometimes just cracked!

I wasn't going to 'blog' today but can't resist a little entry just so I can be sitting near Dan yet again! Later than usual today due to the early dental appointment - not good news there and two more appointments to endure. During Wimbledon fortnight at that; all this and heaven too.

I was interested in Tor's comment here yesterday about writing short stories. I have also been told that it's very difficult to write a good short story and yet it seems as much as I can do. Without blowing my own trumpet I think I'm pretty good at it too. As are many other writers. No, it's the novel that I can't tackle; just don't have a clue about a theme, development, stretching something out to novel proportions or how to even make a start. And yet it's what I really want to do. A lot of novels I read and enjoy aren't really about very much when I analyse them; maybe it's time to just dive in and make a start on something. Not today though; in too much of a strop about the tooth. Maybe I should write a novel entitled 'Excuses.'
