Down and Out

I've had a bad few days but won't bore the pants off anyone by whining. A lot of little things that just pile up and irritate and I'm not a great coper. This morning the final straw arrived in an envelope, informing my benefit has stopped. I will now have half the income I've received since I took early retirement and it'll be tough. No one could live on the amount of money I receive and I hate to rely on hubby, but there is little alternative. I've always said money or the lack of, would never get me down but this is the worst situation I've ever been in. But I said I wasn't going to whine didn't I?

Anyway, we were promised a really warm day today so on the strength of it we shopped to BBQ. Mistake! Cloudy, cool, windy, spitting with rain but hey, our BBQ will go on! My low spirits and this lousy weather have forced me to make a decision this morning I've been deliberating about for a while. It's now booked and official. Next Saturday we fly out to Rhodes for a cheap holiday in the sun. (Just watch there be a heatwave here and freak conditions over Greece.) It's nearly thirty years since I've been abroad; now I'm all in a tizzy about everything I need to do before next Saturday. And we have an Elton John concert next Friday night, As I said, I'm not a great coper.

Anyway, at least all you lovely people will get over a week's break from my moaning!
