Middle Age Spread
One of the most annoying things that's happened since I finished teaching is the arrival of some excess weight I didn't invite. I probably eat less than I did then and certainly rarely indulge in sweet or fatty foods, so why this has happened is not altogether clear. My doctor assures me it's genetic, but as both my parents resemble matchstick people I would question this. It seems my sister and I take after both our pleasantly plump (to use my dad's expression) grandmothers. Thanks grannies.

I know my alcohol intake doesn't help *Blush* and I do tend to walk less since I lost my dog. *Cry* I spend too much time on my backside at the computer too but in fairness I do swim, am quite active at other times and still walk a fair bit. Today, my MSN front page featured 20 surprising things that can make you fat, so of course I had to investigate. To prove I am no pinaciphobic here is the list of five I've picked out to blame...

1. Hayfever - I don't suffer from it but I sneeze a lot so that's enough for me.

2. E-mailing - No comment.

3. A toxin loaded liver - No comment again.

4. Late nights - God, I wish I was a morning person.

5. Worrying. No hope for me then.

I think a little piece on the joys of weight gain in middle age might be in order for B.A.N.G. Off to have my boring dinner now - no wine, no more e-mails today, no sneezing, an early night - and no worries, I'll be skinny by tomorrow. Dream on missis.
