Dear Ethan,

I got a new job today, a real miracle if you asked me. I now work in the Photo Finishing Center at Wal-Mart. It makes me happy because it has nothing to do with food preparation or sacking groceries like my last two jobs and it pays really well. It makes my mom happy because it will actually feed into my supposedly upcoming career as a photographer. Like I said, it's a miracle.

Tomorrow is your brother's first football game as a high schooler. I can't believe I knew him when he was a little shrimp and listened to Backstreet Boys and now he's a freshman pumped full of testosterone and heavy metal. I'm pretty sure Kayla and I are going to the game so we'll cheer extra loud just for you!

I had a dream about you coming home last night. I think it might have actually been the best dream I've ever had. Nothing is the same for me anymore, everything reminds me of the sacrifice you're making and the idea that I might never see you again. I can't believe I've made it a month without a nervous breakdown, let alone 11 more. I miss you more than I ever thought was possible.

I hope that you're safe, wherever you are right now. Keep on keepin' on.

All my love,
Josie
