Mateo
[E] Young children can make an easy task slow or difficult.

Mateo

♦♦♦♦♦

In his porcupine quills,
short, dark and straight,
Mateo follows his mother across the street

than stops.

In the middle clinging to her hand,
his lifeline stretches like a lifetime.

At 2 and a half, he cannot be too careful.
He hides between her legs.
Picked up and taken to the other side,
it's time to bid adieu.

"'Ta luego", le digo.
He remains silent.
His mother smiles,
"'Ta luego".
