MOMENTARY LIFE
MOMENTARY LIFE

[Life is but a transient existence.]

As we gaze in the starlit sky,
Instantly a star burns and cracks.
Just as we plan a great new task,
In a moment we’re stopped in tracks.

As in an auspicious moment,
A tender nascent bud is born;
While its future is dreamed about,
In next it’s cast away forlorn.

As strangers start their jouney in
The path of love they have a clash.
The dreams of life-long company
Are rudely shattered with a crash.

What is this life that we live by
Hit and trial, though sure of nothing,
Except that one day will end all.
That one day we keep on dreading.
