WELCOME BACK
WELCOME BACK

[Return of the prodigal lover]

Welcome friend, you did return,
Though after a long time.
I wish I could dance all night,
But I am past my prime.

I have waited day and night,
In summer and in snow.
But, till now, your whereabouts,
You did not let me know.

Seeing you, no doubt, I’m happy,
And you are most welcome
In my humble dwelling, far
Below your palace plum.

Come, I’ll show you my album,
And mom’s photo in it;
In death bed daily she cried,
As had been her habit.

Each day she asked me ten times,
Whether I heard from you;
Or, whether I would abort,
Or, raise your baby true.

Come, I’ll show you little toys,
And picture of our Brone.
After mom, God called him, too,
Leaving me all alone.

Now my only friend in world
Is my own loneliness.
Shall I barter it for you,
And multiply my stress?
