"passing the Mariner Church"

♠♠♠♠♠

I drive the Edsel
Ford Freeway.
Wave to the Ambassador
Bridge. To Canada
geese I honk
my horn. Im-
patient, almost pass
out from the fumes
from the Motor
City, oil-leaky
Ford
that blocks my free
way around the
Honda. Civic Center bells
toll behind me
as I take the tunnel
and sink below the waters
this November day that
remembers the Edmond
Fitzgerald.
