MY HEART IS NOW DRY AND DEAD

[A ruined heart is no more capable of love]



My heart is a tender bud,
Which a dew drop adorns,
Unaware that all around,
It’s surrounded by thorns.

My heart is a drop pristine,
In its pure innocence,
Thrown down from the skies above
On rocks, without defence.

My heart is now dry and dead
Like a pale autumn leaf,
Turned out by its very own,
Without a sign of grief.

Why woo my heart when it is
Broken, emotionless?
No my love, from its abyss,
It cannot now egress.
