afternoon, 52 and sunny. 20's in NY, PA, MT!

Nice here! See that the Snowbowl in Missoula has 6-22 inch base and 7 of 37 ski runs are open.

Couldn't stay awake this morning. Not because I didn't sleep! So I don't know what's up.

The cockatiel has been singing something that sounds familiar. Very chatty bird with one bad eye. Sits on top of the parakeet cage.

Library is very quiet today. Tomorrow, the game starts around noon and it might be in the sunny 50s.

I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with answering machines. Good for leaving messages (sometimes), lousy for conversations.

WRITTEN TODAY

Withering

Witch-willows fade in Winter's bonds, when
wisdom warns the roots to store last Summer's
windfall deep down in the pond, where sing the
windpipes whittled from the hollow reeds the
widow cut by cattails with her hands, her
winsome wicker whisked from willow whips, wild
whimsy fashioned from its wilted wands.

OVERHEARD

"I'll be sitting reading a book inside the Drop Dead Center," Hubbard.

SENSED

dead green leaves on a cut off tree sprout; squirrel scurrying along the power lines; the distant chime of bells before dark; big rabbit hopping, white tail bobing.
