HEARING DENIED
HEARING DENIED


Shall I be denied hearing,
Since I can’t read or write,
Perfect English, whose grammar,
And spelling is upright?

Shall I be denied your love,
Since my looks are not fair,
Though my heart is pure as gold?
But what, for this, you care?

Shall I be labeled as dumb,
Because I keep silent,
Just in order to, rather,
Bitter conflict prevent?

Shall I be labeled a fool,
Because I do point out,
That the king is stark naked,
Though others express doubt?
