Weather where I am: 81º and sunny this noon.

Weather in Missoula: 68º and rainy, flooding.

Weather in Izmir, Turkey: 73º

Since zwisis is moving to Turkey from Greece, I just thought I'd check out the temp.

I did the Norwegian flag the other day; today, I thought I'd do one for Sweden. This is a link to see the real deal:

Well, I can't say that that turned out well! Too much orange!

Couldn't help but post this poster of the punk group Ebba Grön:

A reworking of an email I sent to Scarlett :

I carry a notepad because the Muse has been known to bite at inconvenient times.

My advice: get a small pad you can carry, EVERYWHERE, and don't go to the toilet or bathub without it! Some of my best moments revolve around water *Smile*. Fortunately I don't swim or I'd have to have pieces of plastic and indelible ink.

Get insipration from other people's blogs. galinago has inspired me recently, as did zwisis! Write your response in Word and/or copy before sending. Make the responses prosaic or poetic, or ... whatever.

In general, make everything one writes (or does) poetic (even the grocery list?). Sooner or later some will be worth keeping; some will find an accepting audience; recognition or acknowledgement will follow.

Some of us create poetry.
Thinking of a particular friend:
Some just ARE.

IMAGES

Looking up at the half moon hanging in the southern sky: a cornice painted neon orange and pink, the white inflorescence of the trees, the childhood memory of my uncle's lilac trees.

Frisbee game, strong smell of perfume on a warm calm evening, the drinking crowd at The Crossing, bean-bag toss.

Porch adorned with cactus, a jade tree, white easter lilies, yellow and red hibiscus. The bumblebees peruse the purple sage.

Pink oxalis, yellow rose, purple delphiniums, and a painter scraping off the paint. I sniff the white peony, avoid the ants

Sketched:

Morning trumpets

A hundred buds soak up the moonlight,
the vines tense turgid, poised for dawn,
the points of purple, pink and blue
open, each a trumpet, pouring song.
The soaring notes spill forth as sun
dispels the grey and along the fence
a hundred morning glories greet the day.
