Celebration!

"Oh, Wren, in your moping around I'm afraid you missed the celebration!" said Bernard.

"No I didn't; we haven't celebrated yet, but we will at dinner."

"So, you did see them?"

"Yes, I did; and I picked them too, but I saved one for you."

"Our first tomatoes of the summer--what a lovely thing! But you did miss the joke though."

"What joke did I miss?" Wren demanded.

"Tom Freud was going to have a gin and tonic with us out by the fishpond, but he stopped to see the tomatoes and had a look at the garden first."

"Wasn't he happy for us?"

"No, he had to leave."

"Whatever for?"

"He came down with a bad case of zucchini envy."
