Egg Poem
One of my yahoo groups called for egg poems in honor of Easter. The poems don’t have to be about Easter, but rather about how the poet like his or her eggs. As a result, I’m writing egg poems. This is either the third or the fourth one I’ve written in the last two days. I’m thinking of combining the first two into a single poem since they cover the same memory of occurrences during and after an Easter Egg Hunt.

Scrambled
like Humpty Dumpty laying on the ground
his body strewn across
a frying pan.

Hard boiled
like Sam Spade
looking for the exotic beauty
who committed premeditated murder.

Over easy
like the hookers on Las Vegas Blvd.
looking for a trick.

Sunny side up
like Richie Rich
his perpetually smiling face
never knowing
the hunger of poverty.
