Silver Impala. K-S-S my you-know-what!
Silver Impala

What grew beside the country road,
what limbs groaned, strewn with ruby balls,
did bid us stop, admire its gravid form?

We plucked one from a bending bough
and passed its sweet juice mouth to mouth,
two bites, then dropped it on the floorboards.

We saw each other with newborn eyes,
we tore our clothes, we tossed our socks
we grabbed a condom, then forgot.

We woke to see yon appletree,
adorned with dreams of garter snakes,
that hissed at us as we drove back
in the Chevy loaned to us in Eden.

This was composed from the prompts:

Silver Impala: half eaten apple; a sock and a condom.

as explained in "Invalid Entry in the blog of Special Kay . There are many towns named Eden. *Smirk*

IMAGES:

Tulip tree in bloom: yellow-green and orange; Japanese maples half dead from the freeze; heavy scent of rose plucked and put in my pocket; 3 stumps of trees felled since I moved here; grass, weeds and vines behind the downtown stores; a young girl wetting stones to show her mother.

AFTERNOON THOUGHTS:

What would you stop you from suicide? For me it would be a call to someone I love more than life. I'd call to hear his voice, to remind myself that death can hurt the living more than the dead.

From The Body in the Lighthouse by Katherine Hall Page there is this organization KSS that stands for "Keep Sanpere Sanpere". This leads to the comment: "K-S-S my you-know-what" which lead to me thinking of what KSS could also stand for:

An old farmer talks about Kansas Social Security: "K-S-S my you-know-what. I've got an old wife and a plow. Don't need an ass since I am one already. Also got a single son who'll move back when we're both buried in the family plot. I've done told him, 'Remember the glads at the funeral, Sonny, and the geraniums on Memorial day.'"
