independence day

My husband and I celebrated a quiet 4th---you know you're getting old when you don't care about fireworks on the 4th! We'll probably watch the ones from Boston later on the tube.

Went early this morning to Sanibel Island, spent several hours at the beach, had lunch. The antique store on Periwinkle Way was open, bought a vintage-looking mermaid mirror.....creating my own, personal old mermaid sanctuary.

Read recently that Robert Graves contends that mermaid is a derivation of "merry maids" and refers to those women who served the White Goddess, the Great Mother, all those witchy, magickal women!

Will need to delve further into that idea.

I am aligning my spine, all the chakras, and imagining, my spine extending down into the sea, and imagine a merry maids tail growing there....

the merry maids tale....

happy fourth!
