We will celebrate
Father's Day
with lemon cake and milk.
The moon is waxing gibbous,
pale yellow, near full.
A tide of wild, dark honey
is rising in our veins.

Tonight, your children
will be begging
for tales of galaxies and stars,
as you race whirling
to victory
assured of the winner's circle.
