Where I Went Wrong
Daily writing practice prom for Saturday, June 27, 2009 is “This is where I went wrong.”

This is where I went wrong. I never learned how to make hospital corners. My grandmother could make them and my mother can make hospital corners, but I can't. I have to use fitted sheets or the bottom sheet on my bed doesn't stay in place. If I attempt to make a bed without a fitted sheet then, before morning, I end up with my bare feet or an elbow touching the mattress and I don't like the feel of a mattress on my naked skin.

I use fitted sheets and when I wash and dry them, I gripe about how difficult they are to fold. All right, I can't fold a fitted sheet half-way decently. When I fold a fitted sheet, it ends up looking like an unmade bed. Not only can't I make hospital corners, but I can't fold a fitted sheet. I'm talented in other ways though, still it would be nice to make a hospital corner or to fold a fitted sheet that looked neat.
