My red tea-kettle
Some days... just fill in the time between other days. Such was today.

I bought a pitcher for 50¢. Filled it up with coffee and milk. Went to the store to buy sugar. Bought funa-tish, bread and bologna.

Earlier walked to the Rose Garden. Not looking as good as last year, but... picked a fragrant golden Julia Child.

Sat in the shade of a pine: beds of roses, purple clematis, gentle movement of the flags, yellow spider, one ant wandering, me wondering whether the clouds above Mt.Jumbo will bring more rain, white clover, clumps of mown grass, squawk of a bird, roar of a truck, light green, dark green, blue, white and grey.

Called Rory. Called Hobie (he and Emory were up on Mt.Jumbo...)

Weather wee bee: The tornado that 56er mentioned in his blog was just east of where my mother lives (she experienced the severe thunderstorm) about 20 miles. It hit Corfu and Darien, near where obwan lives while a separate tornado hit Hilton nearer to Rochester. Tornadoes are rare in Western New York.

Obwan sent an email in response to mine: he lives about 2 miles away from where it hit. No problem where he is.

Here we had a record rainfall for July 26th: .61" Yep. That's less than an inch. In Kansas we can get twice that in an hour. Puddles were nice though.

My red tea-kettle

Whistle of a train
         my red tea-kettle
Hot water and steam
         my green-tea kettle
A promise that sings
         my round red kettle

Red glow from the top
         that red lava-rock
Grey ash in the air
         that grey-lava rock
White plume of the steam
         that hot lava rock

Like my red tea-kettle
that red-lava rocks
