An Unbelievable Injustice
Laying lifeless in a mass
Of torn and broken bones
Was a young black boy
Brutally attacked
Because of his colour.

Close to death
He lay paralysed
Unable to move,
Unable to speak
A slilent plea for help.

The pain was unbearable
Tears fell rapidly down his cheeks
How ever hard he tried
To hold them back;
Falling faster as the pain soared through his body.

His hatred grew stronger
As time swept by.
His body unnoticed
Until a young girl discovered
What appeared to be death.

Quietly she walked over to him
Tears forming in her eyes.
Never had she seen such a sad sight;
As she gently gathered
The youth in her arms.

Cradling him back and forth
Comforting him with her words
Sorrow seen clearly in her eyes
Hatred rising deep within her
Towards his brutal attackers.

She was the one
Who brought him back to life
Grateful he was
That she cared so much
For a complete stranger.

Together they rose above the law
To prove the injustice done
A friendship formed immediately
As together, they fought for peace
And their rights to live.
