Midweek Reflections
‘Idál (Justice), 5 Kamál (Perfection), 166 BE – Wednesday, August 5, 2009 about 5:54 AM Pacific Time

I realized this morning that I've written nineteen poems in five days. there are fourteen days left in Kamal so I can probably write at least nineteen more. I don't even know if this is a record because this is the first year I've kept track of my poem in a poetry journal. Actually, I think I've written more then nineteen poems because I've written poems for my blog which I haven't put in the journal.

This is hump day, the middle of the first week in August. I've written at least nineteen poems in the first five days of the month. There are twenty-six days left in August, there are three days left in this week and I'm on a poetry writing roll. Actually, that sounds sort of tasty. I wander what type of ingredients go into a poetry roll.

Cooking poetry
making tasty poems to
feed my hungry soul.

At Naw-Ruz I begin a poetry journal called the year of the poem, but then I missed several days of writing a poem a day. Now that I'm back to writing poetry daily, perhaps I'll attempt the Year of the Poem Journal again. However, I seem to have difficulties keeping a Year of the Poem going. I've attempted this several times over the past four or five years and I always seem to encounter difficulties keeping the project going.

I think I will just work on keeping a nineteen-day poetry journal. Then in August 2010 or Kamal 167 go back and see how many poems I actually wrote in that 365 days.
