Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Bill, a fish storm?
Weather you be:

Hot here. Needed a hat with a good bill on the front. Bought 4 for 25¢ each. Got two orange ones. First, I like orange. Two, I figger that if some hunter who can't hit the side of a barn gets frustrated, s/he can shoot me.

Now all I need is a shirt with a duck and a bulls-eye on it.

Bill

Was he a fish storm
churning up sea
eying your shore
laughing with glee

did he wish to be more
to caress your hot sands
blow you off deck:
all hands, all hands

so, why such a wreck
what was it you feared
and why do you sigh
now dripping in tears

he's scarce said goodbye
kissed us: wet, windy, warm
Ah... you wanted more
than a passing fish storm

Himmicane Bill is churning the Atlantic. Not certain yet whether he'll land some place. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are in his scope though. The North-East has jitters.

Not so good Gnus:

Well, my cousin Carol called. I immediately called back and asked who died. Well... her son-in-law. He fell off a boat in Lake Chautauqua (NY) when a wave hit it on Sunday. His friends couldn't find him (he was a good swimmer). They found him today. So... no flowers as Colin hated funerals. But the Speta family wants to honor the 20 or so volunteer fire departments who helped search. Carol's daughter will have papers to sign and will need support when what would have been her first wedding anniversary comes around in about a week. Her brother is in town, so that's good.

ME?

Warm? Nuts? Tired? Well... coping quite well. I'm at the air-conditioned library. *Smile*

Been eating a lot of fish. Sushi last night and sole and tuna today. The cod is next.

Writing

My "Minnesota Blue" notepad I bought with Mandy was full last week, so it has been retired. I'm entering sketches in "Minnesota Orange" now. *Bigsmile*

The data entry aspect of putting sketches on line is tiresome. If I just hadn't written so much...
