A writer... hard at play

I'm hard at play.
Another day of ignoring piles of laundry,
forgetting
to eat or be eaten, to pay the phone bill.
If I die,
someone else will take out the trash.

I'm hard at play.
Pen to the paper. Truths scratching through lies.
Ink scribbles
and sighs. Nubs of my fingers flying, no matter
how numb.

It's my way
of healing, my own therapy, my way of
connecting,
of mending my own community. It's my night;
it's my day.

Go away!
I'm happy. I'm sad. Let me suffer alone.
I'm hard at play.

Sketching it out:

Rick DeMarinis book on the short story... I feel so much better about my process as a writer. I feel affirmed in my note-taking, my scribbling, my attitude: I write; therefore I R a writer. The "let me suffer alone" and the idea of "hard at play" come at the beginning of his book.

On a serious note, read "Invalid Entry"  by Noa נעה . How does one answer that question?

Me and Mine:

I sat in Celtic Connection and wrote. I sat in The Break Espresso and wrote. Just a bit of writing... not much. But... it's a good thing.

I shop the end caps at our local market. Bought discounted spices: ginger, basil, cilantro.

I'm making some comfort food: mac and cheese. I'll add tuna.
