My blog--I pull a card--if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it is for you?

valentine's day
Had a valentine breakfast at Perkin's with friends. David bought me a rosebush and an azalea at K-Mart. Making meatloaf for dinner. Not fancy, expensive, or glitzy--but it works for us.

anti-valentine (for CG Jung)

We danced the Sarabande
at the midnight cafe.
He was graceless and moribund
then I heard him say,
"Do you sleep well at night
and do you dream?"
At his pyschobabbel
I wanted to scream...

but demanded instead,
"Tell me your mother's name".
"Goddess", he replied, "Juno",
a soft wide-hipped bubbie,
languid and kind.

Animus and anima
tethered side by side
we floated over clouds
a pea-green sky
and a star-faced woman
yo-yoing the moon
fed us comet dust in teaspoons
as we said good-bye.

The friends we had breakfast with have ordered the recently published and expensive---$125.00---The Red Book---a reproduction of Jung's monumental personal journal of drawings and writings that are believed to have informed his world transforming theories of human conciousness. I'm dying to have a look. Not certain if I want to shell out that kind of money---perhaps I'll win a copy in an on-line contest for one!
