Short poems ...inspired in part by Niedecker

— Give me a fine whine or a pickled wino... but these grapes of wrath are more puckered than Mr. Raisin hisself.
— So you don't like it.
— My dear, "I didn't like it" would be an improvement.

Untitled short poems

Scoped the unassuming slopes for scree;
minefields of jumbled memories.

Dream a million zombies with ten words;
to reach ten living souls, just one.

© Kåre Enga 2010-08-03 [167.159b]

Spread so thin
like gasoline on water
one moment's rainbow slick.

A good life —
a wheel that churns out better
turns our bones to best
or grist.

Reading Niedecker! *Laugh*

*Reading*

More Lorinne Niedecker! Read/finished Pacific Northwest mag from 2009. Got a good line from Joana Klink, "over the years I mistook the scree for slope, the feral hours for trifles." So another project: "Scree and Feral Hours". Shoot me.
