Orange Juice and a Short Term Memory

This morning Mom ate breakfast with coffee and then she went into her bedroom for something. While she was in there I mixed a powdered medication with orange juice. It's the only way I can get Mom to take that medication. I read the directions, which indicated it was all right the mix the powder with juice or coffee.

Mom doesn't want to take this medication, but due to a problem she has when she eats anything high in fiber the medication is necessary. I used to mix it with water, but she can tell if the water contains the medication; therefore, I mix the medication with juice. If she every finds out she is going to get pissed,

When she went into her bedroom, she didn't have a glass of orange juice on the T.V. tray she uses. I put the orange juice on the tray after I mixed the powder with the juice. When I told Mom that she had juice on her table, she said she forgot; she didn't forget, but I'm not telling her any different.

The less I say to Mom about anything, the better the day goes. I can always tell by what Mom says aloud, even to herself, if she will get angry at something I say, do or don't do. Today is one of those days when silence is the better part of valor.
