Maybe I should tell my doctor
Istijlál (Majesty), 18 Mashíyyat (Will), 167 BE – Thursday, October 14, 2010 about 6:01 PM Pacific Time

Blackwell, Oklahoma, was declared a Super Fund sight a while back. I didn't find out about it until this year, but I'm thinking I should tell my doctor. While the Zinc Smelter was in business, the company gave away the sand and dirt containing heavy metal to any one who asked. They did not charge for the sand, the just gave it away to anyone who would hall it to another site. The sand was taken to schoolyards, churchyards, and citizens' backyards.

They discovered heavy metal contamination was discovered all over town. I grew up there. I went to grade school and junior high there. I attended church at the First Baptist Mission in the Smelter Heights. I played in my grandparents' yard and they lived in the Smelter Heights.

I wonder if heavy metal contamination is the cause of some of my physical problems. I think the next time I see my doctor I will tell her. I don't know what she could do about it, but it should be in my medical records.
