A certain melancholy

Once we were us or them,
happy, unaware we were one.
Now, we are only living or dead
and our ways are dead.

There's no way back.

Bring back the songs of wandering.
Sing soft the wrongs of our youth.
Live past the dying of sunsets.
Tell lies to heal raw truth.

*Idea*

I went to a reading by Cedar Brant and Jenni Fallein. I get spasms of inspiration from fellow writers, but I've no idea where this particular ditty comes from, although the title is a response to Cedar's reading.

Poetry ...started a Kingsolver book.
