Sunsets and dawns

She was afraid of loving you:
the dreamer who watched sunsets.

She feared whispering shadows too
tearful in their vesper song.

She was afraid of losing you
in gathering clouds and thunder.

Yet once within a nightmare's yawn, she knew
she could love you from afar.

Yes, she watched your sunsets till they died,
then lay awake to catch your dawn.
