Afraid of showers

I figured out why my mother gets angry when we give her a shower. She is afraid of the water, specifically the water coming out of the showerhead. The problem is the Alzheimer’s disease apparently this is common to all Alzheimer’s suffers. The only I can do is give her the medication for agitation and continue giving her showers.

When the CNA comes in to give her a shower, I make sure I am in the room as well. It takes two people to handle her when she gets angry, which she does when someone gives her a shower.

I suspect the fear concerns the water coming from the showerhead. It does not fall like rain. There is a CNA coming in at 11:00 AM today and I know we have to give her a shower. I am not looking forward to this, but this morning I cannot handle giving her a shower by myself.
